The GP1R in detail.
The GP1R is the Fast Power Sports flagship: a ground-up closed-course race hull developed by Dustin Motzouris around the Kawasaki 1500 four-stroke drivetrain, refined season after season at the sharp end of world-level stand-up competition.
The GP1R was designed for one job: to hook up and hold grip through a race corner under full throttle. Authorised builders describe it as delivering unparalleled hookup and corner grip, and it has become the most widely campaigned aftermarket stand-up race hull in the class.
In 2025 the hull was remodelled to meet the newest sanctioning-body criteria for hull dimensions, with revised weight bias, tuned nimbleness and upgraded materials. That update keeps the platform legal and current for modified stand-up racing, where aftermarket hulls are capped at 97 inches of length and naturally aspirated four-stroke displacement is capped at 1500cc.
The GP1R is sold as a bare hull package to owners and authorised builders, then completed to the rider's specification. That is why there is no single horsepower or top-speed number: the engine build, pump, nozzle, intake and tune are chosen for the rider, the class and the water.

What engine does the Fast Power Sports GP1R use?
The GP1R is engineered around the Kawasaki 1500 naturally aspirated, liquid-cooled four-stroke inline-four, the engine used in modern stand-up racing. Complete builds have also been supplied with an upgraded Kawasaki 160X engine.
How much horsepower does a GP1R make?
There is no single figure, because the GP1R is completed to the rider's specification. Output depends on the engine build, pump, exhaust and tune. Fast Power Sports confirms the power of your exact configuration in writing during the quote process.
How fast is a GP1R?
Top speed depends on the engine package, pump and impeller fitted, and on class rules. Fast Power Sports does not publish a blanket top-speed claim, and we won't invent one — your build's figures are confirmed directly.
Is the GP1R legal for closed-course racing?
The hull was remodelled in 2025 to meet the newest sanctioning-body criteria for hull dimensions, and the Fast Power Sports wings were updated to 2025 rules. Modified-class rules cap aftermarket hulls at 97 inches and naturally aspirated four-strokes at 1500cc. Confirm current-season eligibility for your class before you race.

What is the difference between the GP1R and the F16?
The GP1R is the proven, most widely campaigned platform. The F16 shares its DNA but was re-engineered for quicker rotation, with a new tray, a lower-profile hood and a redesigned engine compartment for easier access to the motor and electronics.
